Thanks to the fabulous Heather Robertson at DBSA Greater Houston, I was invited to be a part of the holiday speaker series at St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Houston, TX.

It was a great evening with 50 or so Houstonians in attendance. We had a lively Q&A session and I enjoyed getting the word out about our framework for elected life change.

Thank you for the opportunity and I look forward to being back.

John Palmer and I finished our Rio Grande Valley tour in Brownsville, TX at the home of Tony and Carla Martinez. The lovely couple are infinitely generous and we could not be more grateful.

John’s artwork was prominently displayed while we signed copies of The Art of Meaningful Living and we talked to the 100 or so attendees about our experiences recovering from mental illnesses.

Thank you to everyone who came out to this lovely event.

Pablo is the best customer of the Paragraphs on Padre bookstore. He is a seven year old boy who comes by the lovely independent bookseller every week and buys a new children’s book. Pablo is a voracious reader and was the first person to shake my hand at The Art of Meaningful Living signing tonight.

My collaborator - artist John Palmer - joined me “on the island” for a roundtable discussion with the attendees and together we found our stride as speakers. We opened our talk by giving summaries of our journeys toward meaningful living, and the audience was courageous in sharing their struggles with us. We laughed and yes we cried, but all felt closer for the experience.

Thanks to Joni for hosting us - what a lovely store and a great night!

A special thanks to my mothers-in-law Carla Martinez and Carol Berryman. Carla has been a top-notch PR agent for The Art of Meaningful Living setting up three events in the Rio Grande Valley this week end culminating in a blow-out art opening at their home in Brownsville. John Palmer will be here this weekend to show off his own work featured in our self-help-meets-coffee-table-collectible.

Today I was lucky enough to be invited to address staff, faculty, and students from the University of Texas Brownsville. It was a great evening full of questions about the book and the framework for life change that it describes.

Thanks to Carmen the Barnes & Noble store manager who was kind enough to invite me to talk with her book club in McAllen early in 2010. What a great start to the weekend.

John, Ryan, and I made the trip down I-10 to NOLA to promote the special edition copies of The Art of Meaningful Living at the Adorante Gallery on Julia St.

The special edition copies are amazing. John numbered the first 100 books and created a unique painting in the back of each one. They are beautiful. Selling for $300.00 per book - it is one of the most economical ways to for collectors to have their very own original John Palmer piece.

It was a great bonus for me to have dinner with my childhood friend and brother Chase Jones. Great to see you buddy!
